It may occur ( screenshot ) if you first installed the program using one path, then uninstalled and installed differently. The wrong path is saved in the registry. It will be necessary to fix it there:
- Start? Run (or immediately in the search above the Start button)? enter regedit and open the registry.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OpenVPN or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\OpenVPN\ (in case 64-bit system)
- Find invalid entries (usually in three places)? double click on the parameter name on the left ? and change the path to the correct one (for example, the wrong path D:\Programs\ ... change to the correct C:\Program Files\ ...)
After that, the program will start without any errors (do not forget about the specifics of starting the OpenVPN GUI in Windows Vista, 7 and 8).
Note: The problem described above has been completely resolved in our own VPN software. A version is currently available for Windows , Android , Mac OS and iOS .
